May 2020 The Local 2 Child & Elder Care office is closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 virus. APPLICATION TIME - New applications must be submitted annually for another year of benefits (September – August). Apply in July so that we can grant benefits in September. Due to Covid 19, Application Time will be held by mail, not in person at Local 2. To have priority status, we need to receive your mailed applications and paperwork for Elder/Disabled Care the week of June 29-July 2. Childcare applications should be postmarked the week of July 6-10. Make sure the postage for the envelope is correct. APPLYING FOR ELDER/DISABLED CARE? Once we receive your application the week of June 29-July 2, we will contact you regarding an interview with a counselor so we may learn more about the condition of your elderly or disabled relative. The SAT classes, sponsored by the Child & Elder Care Plan and planned for the summer of 2020, have been cancelled since the University of California has suspended the SAT requirement for the 2021-22 college year.
